Granular Workspace Roles
All user roles are explicitly tracked in the database to guarantee security and compliance.
Individual User
A single user with full admin capabilities for their standalone workspace. Can create projects, upload documents, run extractions, and manage billing.
Workspace Admin
Manages organization members, invites users, sets team groupings (e.g. "Default" team), and manages the secure shared billing methods and payment options.
Developer
Full technical workspace permissions. Developers create projects, upload PDFs, configure custom entity definitions, and invoke extraction workflows.
Analyst
Focuses entirely on labeling and reviewing PDF datasets. Analysts have read-only project permissions, helping keep human-in-the-loop validation active.

Common questions
When am I charged?
Dokumen records charges in PostgreSQL and uses Stripe only to process saved card payments on the monthly charge date.
How are individual and organization accounts structured?
An individual account supports a single user with the individual role. Organization accounts support one or more users with roles of admin, developer, or analyst (each org must have at least one admin). The base fee is $10/month for individual accounts, and $10 per user/month for organization accounts, in addition to metered model/extraction token usage.
Can I upgrade my account later?
Yes. An individual user can upgrade to an organization account instantly via their profile page. When you upgrade, your owned projects are transferred to a new Default team, your role changes to admin, and your next payment date and saved card details are copied over without modification.
Why do you require card verification immediately on sign-up?
We require adding a valid credit or debit card during sign-up to verify account validity via Stripe SetupIntents. However, you will not be charged anything at creation. Your first billing invoice is processed exactly one month after registration.
How are payments processed?
Payments are processed securely via direct integration with Stripe (SetupIntent, Customer, PaymentIntent, refund, disputes, etc.). This customized design allows us to bypass the standard 0.9% Stripe Billing surcharge completely, passing those savings directly to you in the form of lower metered rates.
